News: Murs x Fashawn - This Generation [Tracklist/Cover]

Two of the best from the West will join forces for a collaborative project titled "This Generation", set for a September 25. Completely produced by Beatnick & K-Salaam and released via Duck Down, there's a lot pointing towards this being a superb album. I love both of these guy's music, though I must say that neither has managed to impress me that much with their respective recent releases. I have a great feeling about this one however!

01. "Just Begun"
02. "64 Impala"
03. "Reina De Barrio (Ghetto Queen)" (Ft. Adrian)
04. "Stone Cold"
05. "Yellow Tape" (Ft. Krondon)
06. "Peace Treaty"
07. "And It Goes"
08. "Slash Gordan"
09. "Heartbreaks & Handcuffs"
10. "This Generation" (Ft. Adrian)

Video: Murs - Gods Gone Crazy

Murs presents "Gods Gone Crazy", the first exclusive track from Yumiko: Curse Of The Merch Girl, his album and graphic novel collaboration with Josh Blaylock, dropping Wednesday 3/22 and available only until then on Murs' Kickstarter page. The album and novel unite to tell the story of Yumi Morales, a girl living the fabled tour life working the merchandise table for her boyfriend Dominick's band Murder Acts. The 124-page graphic novel is illustrated by Jose Garcia, written by Josh Blaylock and the ten-song album - whose lyrics are printed in their entirety throughout the novel - is produced entirely by DJ Foundation. Yumiko is available only via the project's Kickstarter page, where a range of different pledge options will get you everything from the novel and CD to exclusive apparel, custom download cards illustrated by David Mack and Jim Mahfood, and a personal thank-you note and Twitter follow from Murs. Followed by the release of the album and book, an animated music video will officially be unveiled at Murs' party during the Comic-Con convention in San Diego. "Yumiko is hip hop and comics done correctly," says Murs of the project. "Comics have always been a huge inspiration to me. And having the chance to publish my own comic is truly an honor. Working with my partners to create this book was a lot of fun and we are looking forward to making our dream a reality with the help of the fans."

News: Murs & Fashawn to team up for new project

Good news here... one of Cali's best underground vets, Murs will be paired with one of it's brightest new stars in Fresno's Fashawn for a new double disc EP, entirely produced by new and very adept producer K-Salaam.

News came through Fashawn, in a response he gave to TheWellVersed.com :

Well we’re about 50 percent done with that and that’s gonna be dope. And I think we’re gonna double disk that. I think we might do it EP style and just put this project out. Like there’s the Murs and Me project and then there’s Me and Fash. Each project that has the “me” in the title, then that person’s taking the lead on the project. Like the Murs and Me project, I’m taking the lead on that one. And the Me and Fash project, Murs is taking the lead on that EP. And its produced by K-Salaam & Beatnick. That’s gonna be awesome, can’t wait ‘til ya’ll to hear that.

We’re just trying to figure out a creative way to package it and put it out ‘cause you know, me and Murs, we have an extensive catalog. We just wanna do something innovative and fresh and that’s why I like collaborating with each other. This is my first time ever doing an album with another emcee so that should be interesting.
